Anne Theresa Cannon, 90, of Augusta, GA, passed away peacefully at home on July 15, 2024. Born on June 27, 1934, in Union, New Jersey, Anne lived a life filled with love, joy, and cherished memories. 

Anne was married to Delmon Cannon Sr. for 52 wonderful years. Together they built a life rich in love and family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Delmon Sr., and her sons, Lonnie Cannon, Delmon Cannon Jr., and Kevin Cannon. 

Anne moved to Augusta, GA, in August of 2019, where she continued to embrace life with the same tenacity and resilience that defined her. Her strength and positive spirit were an inspiration to all who knew her. 

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Cannon-Powell, and her grand and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Anne’s love for her family was boundless, and she embraced all those who entered her life with the warmth and affection of a grandmother. Known affectionately as “Mema” to many, Anne had a unique ability to make everyone feel special and loved. 

A true classic movie enthusiast, Anne spent countless hours enjoying films from a bygone era. Her love of music was evident in the way she always had her handheld radio close by, sharing her favorite tunes with those around her. Her laughter and passion for life were infectious, and she found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. 

A celebration of Anne’s life will be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, at Platt’s Funeral Home, located at 337 North Belair Road, Evans, GA 30809. The visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by the memorial service at 12:00 PM. A reception will be held immediately after the service, offering an opportunity for family and friends to gather and share memories. 

Anne will be remembered for her kind spirit, her tenacity in the face of life’s challenges, and the joy she brought to those around her. She touched many lives with her love and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
