Mr. Carlo Benedetto Caputo, 78, entered into rest on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at his residence in Martinez.

Carlo was born on September 30, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York to Benedetto Caputo and the former Filomena Calvetto. He graduated high school and started college when was 16 years old, and he earned two master's degrees by the age of 21. He then served his country as an officer in the United States Army, where he became an Army Ranger. Upon returning home from the Vietnam War, he settled in Augusta and began his career as a mechanical engineer at Savannah River Site. Carlo was a devout Christian and an active member of West Acres Baptist Church. He loved Jesus and spent much of his free time sharing the love of Christ to anyone he met.

He is survived by his children, Nicholas, Anna, Paul, and Michael Caputo, a brother, John “Gigi” Caputo, as well as thirteen grandchildren, two nephews, and a niece.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at West Acres Baptist Church with Rev. Malone Morris officiating. The family will greet friends from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm prior to the service. Burial will be at Fort Jackson National Cemetery at a later date.
