Roy Colvin

February 7, 1947 — December 7, 2022

Roy Wayne Colvin, 75 years of age, of Evans, GA passed away on December 7, 2022 in Evans, GA.

Roy was born in Millen, GA to Bob and Doris Colvin on February 7, 1947. He went to school at Butler High school Class of ‘66. He married Margaret Pappas on March 8, 1967 in Augusta, GA. They have been happily married for 55 years.

Roy was in the Finance business most of his life and opened Household Rentals and Sales on July 1, 1989. Since then, he has loved serving the CSRA for over 33 years. Roy was known for his strong character, integrity, humor, and love for his family and employees. He was always the first one to work every day and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Roy loved his community, and his community loved him. He did not know a stranger.

Roy enjoyed playing golf with his sons and friends. His favorite past time was spending time with his family on the lake and trips to the beach. He loved his church, Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and was active in the AHEPA and the annual Greek Festival. One of his favorite things to do was to visit the Family Y and sit in the ‘think tank’(sauna). He was a diehard Elvis fan and if an Elvis song ever came on you could be guaranteed he would jump up and get to dancing! Roy was affectionately known as “Uncle Buck” by those closest to him.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Doris Colvin, his in-laws James and Betty Pappas.

Roy is survived by his wife, Margaret Colvin, three sons Greg Colvin (Teresa), Jimmy Colvin (Jodi) and Michael Colvin (Heather), three siblings Ron Colvin (Louise), Vicki Floyd (Randy), Mitchell Colvin (Sandra), 9 Grandchildren, 8 Great-Grandchildren, 4 Nieces and 2 Nephews.

Pallbearers will be Alex Colvin, Jacob Sroda, Zack Smith, Chandler Duncan, Clay Colvin, and Dane Meisler.

Honorary Pallbearers: Ron Colvin, Mitchell Colvin, Randy Floyd, Peter Pappas, Joe Bowman, Dennis McGowan, Tim Love, Dwight Pope, Dan McAlvin, James Pappas and Ridge Johnson.

The family of Roy wishes to extend their sincere thanks to all the friends and family that have prayed and supported them during this time. And a special thank you to our best friend, Tina Watts for her clinical support, time, and selfless care.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Roy’s honor can be made to the Heart Association or Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
