Augusta, GA--- Mrs. Alice “Lee” Dyal Beauchamp, 90, of Milledge Avenue, Augusta, GA, entered into rest on March 23, 2009 at the Medical College of Georgia.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at 3:00 pm, in Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel with Dr. Greg DeLoach officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park, Augusta.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March, 25, 2009, from 2:00 pm until the time of services, at the Funeral Home.

Mrs. Beauchamp was born in Covington, Georgia and grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. She was a natural beauty and after graduating from Andrew Jackson High School in 1936, she married the love of her life Sheldon “Bud” Beauchamp in 1941. They moved to Miami, Florida in 1952 where she raised her family and was a bookkeeper with General Motors and McDonald Air Conditioning. She retired in 1985 and moved to Augusta, GA, to help her son care for her grandchildren. Alice was active in IHAM, served as secretary for the Touchdown Club in Miami, for many years and also as the President of the Country Club Hills Board of Directors in Augusta. She loved gardening, painting, and the beach. She was actively involved at First Baptist Church of Augusta and the Anna Bannister Senior’s Sunday School Class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud and baby son, Barry, her father, Claude Dyal, Sr. and mother, Geraldine Carswell Dyal, two brothers, Stiles Dyal and Gerald Dyal and her sister, Laura Jo Ellis.

Survivors include her son, William “Bill” Beauchamp and daughter, Lisa Beauchamp, both of Augusta; two grandchildren, Dr. Kalen Beauchamp Porter, of Augusta and Brent Beauchamp, of Connecticut and one brother, Claude Dyal, Jr, of Alabama.
