Anthony Tony Morano

Augusta- Mr. Anthony John “Tony” Morano, 69, beloved husband of Wanda Morano, entered into rest on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at the Heart and Vascular Institute at University Hospital.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. K.C. Stevens officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Morano was a native of New York City. He retired as a Major after 21 years of service in the United States Army. During that time, he saw combat during two tours of Vietnam and also served in Korea and Germany. After his retirement, he was sales manager for Kay Jewelers and Friedman’s Jewelers.

In addition to his wife, Wanda, he is survived by his sons, Jonathan A. Morano, Anthony V. Morano, and wife, Shannon, and Andrew Scott Morano, his daughters, Diana T. Morano and Stephanie C. Morano, a brother, Vincent Morano and wife, Yasue, a sister Catherine Benanti, and his three grandchildren, Jonathan “Jay” Morano II, Kimberly O. Morano, and Gianna Morano.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Theresa Morano.

Pallbearers will be his children, Diana, Jonathan, Anthony, Scott and Stephanie, his grandson, Jay, and Dane Jennings.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 from 6:00 until 9:00 PM.
