Bobbie Jean Higdon

Augusta, GA- Mrs. Bobbie Jean Higdon, 74, wife of the late SSGT James L. Higdon, was called home to be with her Lord on Friday May 15, 2009 from National Health Care in North Augusta, SC.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday May 18, 2009 at Christ Episcopal Church with Reverend Erwin Veale officiating. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery.

Mrs. Higdon was born in Augusta, GA and grew up in the Harrisburg neighborhood.
After traveling as an Army wife, she and Mr. Higdon relocated to Jackson, SC to raise their family. Mrs. Higdon was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. She retired from Coordinated Apparel as Distribution Supervisor. Mrs. Higdon was a loving and faithful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved her whole family and supported them in all that they did.

Survivors include two daughters, Paula J. Higdon of Jackson, SC, Melodi H. Lloyd and husband Danny of Keysville, GA; one son, James M. Higdon and wife Joann of North Augusta, SC; four grandchildren, April Celestine, Kristi Bramlett, Jeff Cook, and Steven Higdon; three great grandchildren; Matthew, Ansley, and Laney-Claire. She was preceded in death by her mother, the late Dorothy Stevens and her step-father, the late Malcolm Stevens.

Pallbearers will be devoted friends and relatives.

The family will receive friends on Sunday May 17, 2009 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
