Carloyn Bailey Smith

Harlem, GA – Carolyn Bailey Smith, 84, entered into rest on Friday, August 6, 2010 at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 9, 2010 at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Rd. chapel with Pastor Wallace Banks and Pastor Sonny Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Carolyn retired from the Columbia County Board of Education where she worked as a Dietician Manager. She enjoyed working in her garden and traveling. Carolyn was a member of the order of the Eastern Star Martinez Lodge. She was also a member of New Life Church of God which she loved and supported. Carolyn was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband of 10 years, Tommy T. Smith of Harlem, GA, three sons, William E. Bailey (Connie) of Martinez, GA, Danny L. Bailey (Frances) of Appling, GA, Clyde E. Bailey (Denise) of Grovetown, GA, one daughter, Erline Wilson (Tommy) of Appling, GA, daughter in law, JoAnn Bailey of Albany, GA, 14 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren. Carolyn was preceded in death by one son, the late Dickie Bailey.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the funeral home.
