Cathryn Tudor Cox, 88, entered into rest on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Morningside Assisted Living.
Per her request, a graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Westover Memorial Park with her son, Mike Cox and grandsons, Trevor Young and David Aycox officiating.
Cathryn Cox was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta, Georgia. She retired from the Medical College of Georgia as the Department Manager of Cell and Molecular Biology, after 25 years of service. She taught piano for 20 years and introduced hundreds of children to the joy of music, and shared her personal talents in many Christian environments. Cathryn Cox was a lady of faith and was a longtime member of Warren Baptist Church. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt, and had a special love for her lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred T. Tudor, Sr., her brothers, Alfred Tudor and Allen Tudor and sister, Lil Bailey, grandson in law, Alton Creech, and by William G. Cox, the father of her children.
Survivors include; her son, Mike Cox and wife Earleen of Martinez, GA, daughters, Melody Cox Young of Wilmington, NC and Jeanne Aycox and husband, Mike of Martinez, GA, grandchildren, Trevor Young and wife Leslie, Amber Young, Amanda Creech and David Aycox, great grandchildren, Liana Young and Caeson Young.
The family wishes to say a special “Thank You” to the staff of Morningside Assisted Living and to “her ladies” from Bright Star and Regency Hospice.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Platt’s North Belair Road.
