Donald Patrick Blackstone

Augusta- Mr. Donald Patrick Blackstone, 70, entered into rest on Monday, January 26, 2009 at the Medical College of Georgia.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel with the Rev. Mark Taylor officiating.

Mr. Blackstone was a veteran of the United States Army, Navy and Marines. He was a carpenter and a HAM radio operator, license number KF4ZMR.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Boatwright Blackstone, of Augusta, a daughter, Donna Bowen of Shelby, North Carolina, a brother, Virgil Blackstone of Clarks Hill, a sister, Vera Blackstone of Tennessee, three grandchildren, Brittany Wallace, Joshua Wallace, and Miranda Bowen, all of North Carolina, and two special helpers, Lauren Jennings and Meghan Widener. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Blackstone.

The family would like to thank Dr. Jose Cuellar at MCG for the special care and attention given to Mr. Blackstone and his family.
