Mrs. Dorothy Pascarella Christen
Augusta, GA - Mrs. Dorothy Pascarella Christen, 75 beloved wife of the late George Christen entered into rest on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at University Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel with the Rev. Baxter Stanley officiating. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Christen was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania to the late Nick and Rose Marie Pascarella. She owned and operated Dorothy Mae Fashions for many years and also worked as an Antiques Dealer. Mrs. Christen was a member of the ABWA (American Business Women’s Association) and was awarded the 2003 Woman of the Year honor. She also enjoyed volunteering her time at the Center for Abused Women.
Mrs. Christen is survived by her son, Gilbert Frayer and wife Kimberly of Crested Butte, CO; her daughter, Bonnie Schwab and husband Cary of Vienna, VA; her brother, Edward Pascarella of Fort Lauderdale, FL; her sister, Elaine Mickley and husband Kirk of Evans, GA; her four grandchildren, Leah Predum and husband B.J., Janna Hansen and husband Tyler, Lauren Grunberg and husband Marc, and Kristina Schwab; and by her three great-grandchildren, Shay and Jasmine Predum, and Micah Hanson.
Mrs. Christen was preceded in death by her brother, James Pascarella and by her sisters, Alice Mulcahy and Josephine Morris.
Pallbearers will be Ed Mickley, Marc Grunberg, Tyler Hansen, B.J. Predum, Kirk Mickley, and Cary Schwab.
Mrs. Christen’s granddaughter is participating in the Team in Training ING Half Marathon for Leukemia and Lymphoma to honor her late grandmother. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 1:00 until service time.
