Augusta, GA---Mrs. Ella P. Moody, 86, entered into rest on Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Stevens Park Health and Rehabilitation.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 12, 2011, in the Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel, with Reverend Kevin Steele and Mr. Pete May officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
Mrs. Moody was a native of Parksville, South Carolina, but had been a resident of Augusta for 70 years. She was a, 50 year, member of National Hills Baptist Church. She was a devoted worker in the Church Nursery, was a member of the Bereavement Committee and assisted in preparing meals at the Church. Mrs. Moody also provided transportation, to and from Church, to residents of local nursing homes and others. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and loyal friend.
Mrs. Moody was preceded in death by her husband, O. T. Moody, Jr., 2nd husband, F. O. Smith, her son, O. T. Moody III, grandson, Wesley Foster, parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include, her son and daughter in law, Albert and Pat Moody of Augusta, grandchildren, Raye Moody and Crissy Lamb, great grandchildren, Tyler, Jonathan and Katlyn and by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and devoted friends.
Pallbearers will be Doug Poole, David Poole, James Edward “Rooster” Kinsaul, Billy Smith, Joe Cowart and Randall Cowart.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening, July 11, 2011 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Platt’s Crawford Avenue.
