George Hamilton Alexander

Augusta, GA – Mr. George Hamilton Alexander, 73, husband of Maxine Lariscy, entered into rest on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel with Rev. Mike Shearon officiating. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Mr. Alexander retired from the Georgia Power Company after more than 30 years of service. He served in the United States National Guard and was a member of the United States Power Squadron for 17 years. Mr. Alexander loved animals, fast cars, and target shooting.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Alexander is survived by his step-daughter, Sharon Newman; his step-grandchildren, Alexandria and Sean Newman; his numerous nieces and nephews; and by his special friends and caregivers, Al Schmoltz and Joe Anderson.

Mr. Alexander was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillian Davis Alexander.

Pallbearers will be Jerry McKettrick, Wayne McKettrick, Lamar Powell, Joseph Anderson, Stoney Turnage, and Charley Hurley.
