Henry Hunter Dye, Jr.

Martinez, GA---Mr. Henry Hunter Dye, Jr., 90, entered into rest on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Westwood Extended Care, Evans, GA.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 14, 2016 at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Reverend Joseph Thompson officiating.
Mr. Dye was born May 27, 1926 to Henry Hunter Dye, Sr. and Thelma Faglier Dye. He was born in Avera, GA, but had lived most of his life in Augusta, GA and the Augusta area. He retired from Stafford Nut and Bolt after 42 years of service. He was a member of Crawford Avenue Baptist Church and was an Emeritus member of the Martinez Masonic Lodge #710.
Mr. Dye was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Jeanette Humphrey and Bowdre Cruse and a brother, John Willis Dye.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Doris Waddle Dye of Martinez, GA, daughters, Karen Dye of Evans, GA, Susan Whitehurst (Martin) of Gray, GA and Beth Holt (James) of Martinez, GA and grandsons, Shane Logan, Chris Holt and Zach Whitehurst.
The family would like to thank the staff of Westwood Extended Care, for the care provided during Mr. Dye’s illness.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 14, 2016 from 12:00 noon until 1:30 pm at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Road.
