N. Augusta, SC---Mr. James Benton “PaPa” Eubanks, 88, entered into rest on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center.
A celebration of Mr. Eubanks life will be held at 11:00 am tomorrow Friday, May 27, 2011, at a graveside service, at Westover Memorial Park with Reverend Eryn Eubanks officiating.
Mr. Eubanks was a native of Augusta, GA, but had resided in North Augusta, SC for many years. He was retired from Aiken Technical College, where he was an Instructor. He was a member of the Fleming Masonic Lodge, was a veteran of World War II having served in the U. S. Navy and was a member of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Eubanks was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Eubanks and his son, Danny Robert Eubanks.
Survivors include his sons and daughters in law, Mitchell “Newt” and Doris Eubanks and Tommy and Nora Eubanks, all of Martinez, GA, grandchildren and spouses, Robert and Jenny Eubanks, Shannon and Chip Melton, Melisa and Cris Cliett, Andrea and Kevin Posey and Mitchell Eubanks, Jr., great grandchildren, Kyle, Drew, Taylor, Cullen, Ashley, Bailie and MacKenzie and his sister, Myra Greene, of Augusta, GA.
The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the VA Medical Center and a special thank you to the staff and his friends at Waverly Gardens.
The family will receive friends this evening Thursday, May 26, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Platt’s Crawford Avenue.
