James L. Elroy Harmon

Martinez, GA – Mr. James L. Harmon passed away Monday October 12, 2009 at Trinity Hospice in Augusta, GA. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mrs. Marian Harmon; his daughter, Susan Moore (Larry); two grandchildren, Tyler and Hannah Moore; and his sister Evelyn O’Neal (Gerald).

Mr. Harmon was born November 30, 1933 in Augusta. He served his country in the Air Force, and worked as a supervisor for 44 years at Babcock and Wilcox/Thermal Ceramics. He was a member of West Acres Baptist Church, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, and soldier of Christ. In his own words he stated, “I am the most blessed man in the world”. His family and friends would say they were the most blessed for having known him.

The celebration of his life will be Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 3:00 PM Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Rd. chapel with Pastor Larry Harmon and Rev. Wayne Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Wednesday October 14, 2009 at the funeral home.
