Mr. James Mikell (Mike) Daniel, 72, of Grovetown, Georgia went home to the loving arms of his savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, July 14, 2022.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jumelle Weathers Daniel; his chidren, Mikell Britton Daniel, Rachel Daniel Reigle, and Christopher Dwayne Reigle, and his two grandsons, Mikell and James who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Louise Weathers; devoted brothers, Lee Erwin Epting and Graham Foster “Danny” Daniel, sisters-in-law, Bobbie Epting and Amanda Daniel; and numerous Daniel and Epting nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mr. Daniel was born January 4, 1950 in Athens, Georgia, son of the late Graham Foster Daniel and Rachel Oldhan Daniel. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and Georgia Tech earning degrees in Civil and Agricultural Engineering. Mike was a scout master starting with Cub Scouts all the way through Boy Scouts utilizing the 12 tenets of scouting to mold many boys into young men helping them to build great character. Some of the scouts he mentored were even able to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. He enjoyed many things such as going camping, snow skiing, lake and beach trips, and crabbing at Edisto, but his greatest joy was being Daddy to Britt and Rachel. Mike was a loving father, devoted husband, and wonderful Christian man. He was also a member of The Sanctuary where he enjoyed meeting and greeting as well as showing his Christian love as a servant of The Sanctuary.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 11:30 am at The Sanctuary located at 4584 Cox Road, Evans, GA 30809 conducted by Pastor Bryan Cockrell. The family will receive friends beginning at 11 am in the church sanctuary.
The family would like to thank the staff of Kindred Hospice and Home Instead and a special thanks to care givers Trina Schmidt and Rosemary Gilman for their wonderful care of Mr. Daniel.
