Grovetown, GA - MSgt. (Ret) John Charles Bouchard, 47, of Augusta, GA answered the call from heaven on Sunday, December 31, 2017. John leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Ginny, daughter Lily, parents Gerard & Patricia Bouchard, brother Geoffrey Bouchard, second mother (Aunt) Diane Scribner, Godfather Robert Bouchard, aunt Pauline Nesbit, uncles Raymond Bouchard, Charles Scribner, nephew Sawyer Loveless, mother-in-law Cindy Johnson, father-in-law Bryan Johnson (Luisa), sisters-in-law Becky Loveless (Cody), Samantha Johnson, and grandmother by marriage Mary Dean. John was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frieda & Franklin Scribner, paternal grandparents Emile & Rose Anna Bouchard, and Godmother Anne Bouchard.
John was born and raised in Brunswick, Maine. John knew where he wanted to go to college and only applied to one, St Michael’s College in Vermont, where he was immediately accepted. John graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Russian language. After graduation, John enlisted in the United States Air Force. He devoted 21 years of service to his country. John loved to fly, and his career took him around the globe on several Air Force platforms. He truly lived his passion. His career took him places most could only dream about. After retirement from the Air Force, John called Augusta, GA home. He worked for LG-Tek where he became a part of an extended work family. John was most happy spending time with his family and making those around him smile or groan with epic dad jokes. His daughter Lily was his crowning achievement. He was the proudest dad cheering the loudest for his “baby girl.”
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 5, 2018 at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Road Chapel with the Rev. Robert D. Fain and Rev. Lynn Prather officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm. A second service will be held in Brunswick, Maine at St John the Baptist Church at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be given in memory of John to Operation Second Chance, 20251 Century Blvd. Germantown, MD 20874 and Folds of Honor Foundation, 8551 N 125th E Ave Suite 100 Owasso, OK 74055. These two organizations directly impacted the Bouchard family during this journey.
