Julia Ann Snider Jones

Augusta, GA – Julia Ann Snider Jones, 79, entered into rest on Friday, March 29, 2013 at University Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Julia was a Senior Nursing Assistant at University Hospital for 32 years before retiring. She enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and working search-a-word puzzles. Julia was a loving mother and grandmother. She was devoted to her beloved James H. Keels for over 30 years. She was known as Aunt JuJu to her sidekick and great niece, Savanna Landrum.

Survivors include her daughter, Christine Jones Murphy (Jerry) of Augusta, GA, one grandson, Keith Murphy (Amanda) of Martinez, GA, one brother, Robert “Bobby” Snider of Gibson, GA, three sisters, Sarah Grace Parrish of Augusta, GA, Mary Saye of Rome, GA, Sherrye Winkler of Harlem, GA, two great grandchildren, Amberly Murphy and Jason Murphy, both of Augusta, GA, as well as many loved nieces and nephews. Julia was preceded in death by her brother, William Snider and her sister, Polly Williford.

Pallbearers will be Nicholas Landrum, Keith Murphy, Curtis Landrum, and Jason Murphy.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, April 1, 2013 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM.
