Evans, GA – Louise Amelia McMahon, beloved wife of the late Lt. Col. Robert J. McMahon, entered into rest December 31, 2011.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:15 PM on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at The Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Telfair Street with Rev. Jacek Szuster and Rev. Michael Lubinsky serving as celebrants. Interment to follow in Westover Memorial Park.

Mrs. McMahon’s greatest joy was in being a loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, homemaker, and friend to many. Being a military wife her place of residence changed frequently both here in the United States and in Europe. For the last 10 years she enjoyed life at Brandon Wilde, she was a resident of the Augusta area for 50 years. Mrs. McMahon was a member of the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She was a graduate of Augusta College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Art. Mrs. McMahon was active in the Augusta Women’s Club, Spring Lakes Garden Club, and Military Wives. She loved life and is a very positive influence to her family and close friends and will be sincerely missed.

Survivors include her son, John “Jack” McMahon and daughter-in-law Sue S. McMahon of Augusta; granddaughters, Mrs. Jennifer Polhmann, Drs. Holly (Brandon) Dawson; grandson, John Andrew (Sally) McMahon; great-granddaughter, Audrey L. Polhmann; great-grandson, Henry D. Polhmann; step-grandchildren, Christian Seklecki, Summer (Gabe) Swenson, Martin Seklecki, Allison Seklecki, Mitchell Seklecki, Chandler Seklecki, Kolbe Seklecki, and John Seklecki; step-great-grandchildren, Sol Swenson, Oliver Swenson, and Lucy Swenson; along with nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, January 3, 2012 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
