MSG (Ret.) Emil Robert Wisda, 91, beloved husband of 65 years of the late Elizabeth Chapman Wisda, entered into rest on May 13, 2023.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Westover Memorial Park with Chaplain Dexter Lambert officiating.
Mr. Wisda was born in Hazeltown, PA to the late John Joseph and Mary Ellen Schauer Wisda. He served his country proudly for 21 years with the United States Army with service during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Mr. Wisda was awarded many awards during his time of service including the National Defense Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Army Commendation Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Air Medal, the Expert Rifle medal and the Bronze Star Medal. Following his retirement from the Army, Mr. Wisda worked for the United Postal Service until his retirement after 20 years.
Mr. WIsda loved his family and was especially thankful to his dear wife Elizabeth for raising a military family that was always on the move.
Mr. Wisda is survived by his daughter, Linda Wisda (Robert Jackson); his 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Wisda is preceded in death by his children, John Wisda, Barbara Mendez, and Paula Cloy; and by his 7 sisters and 2 brothers.
