Mary Ann Howard Kelly was born August 5, 1928 and died February 20, 2023. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jefferson Brantley Weeks, sister, Thelma Lynn Edenfield, her two sons, Jeffry Carlos Howard and Wilburn Thomas Howard, two grandsons, John Courtland Howard and Jennings Carter Howard, and husband, Donald Kelly.
Ann was born in Burke County, Georgia, but lived most of her life in Augusta, Georgia. She was employed with Sherman & Hemstreet, then retired from Kelly Howard Construction, where she worked alongside her husband, Don. They enjoyed many years of work and fun building new subdivisions and finding treasures at auctions.
Ann was an expert seamstress and for many years had a shop attached to her home from which she sold beautiful children’s clothes, including handcrafted, one-of-a kind christening and baptismal gowns. Later she began teaching classes for those wanting to create such heirlooms; from these classes, she formed many close friendships that lasted for life.
Ann is survived by two sisters, Virginia Ellis (late Bill), Kathleen McDonald (the late Hugh), two grandchildren, Erin Howard Savoie (Adrian) and Jeffry Christopher Howard (Shannon) and five great grandchildren, Sadie Pearl Savoie, Jarrod Chase Howard (Kayla), Jocelyn Cadence Howard, Julianna Charlese Howard and Gwendolyn Ann Howard. Two great, great grandchildren, Jasper Chason Howard and Jane Cazzleigh Howard, several loved nieces, nephews, two stepdaughters, Becky and Elizabeth and their families.
