Preston Riley Mcdowell

Evans, GA – Preston Riley McDowell, 3, precious son of Preston and Ashley McDowell, entered into rest on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, May 7, 2018 at Parkway Baptist Church with Rev. Russell Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park.

Riley suffered much of his young life but had the sweet smile of angel. He brought immense joy to his family and those who loved him. He could melt a heart with one glance. He was happiest when he was cuddled close to those he loved. His sweet countenance will be remembered lovingly by us all. We can only bear losing him because we know he is in the arms of Jesus and will never feel pain again.

In addition to his parents, survivors include paternal grandparents; James and Melissa McDowell of Atlanta, GA, maternal grandparents; Roger and Misty Maphis of Martinez, GA, paternal great grandparents; Roger and Julie Cornwell of New Orleans, LA, Charles and Danette McDowell of Cherokee, NC, maternal great grandparents; Paul and Katherine Robinson of Martinez, GA, Irene Maphis of Odessa, TX, uncle; Russell McDowell of Grovetown, GA, and several extended family members. He was preceded in death by his uncles, Tyler Reese "Tater" Maphis and Riley Garrett "Spanky" Maphis, and his great grandfather, Chuck Maphis.

Pallbearers will be Chris Davis, Randy Allen, Bill Snover, Wesley Counsell, Trapper Davis, and Ray Reynolds.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the funeral home.

In honor of Riley, the family asks that those attending the service bring balloons and wear a Riley Warrior shirt or a red or blue shirt of your choice.
