Mr. Royce D. Boone, 92, entered into his heavenly home on September 14, 2017 at his home in Evans, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 18, 2017 in the Central Christian Church of Augusta on Crawford Avenue. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.

Mr. Boone was born in Burnsville, North Carolina, the son of the late Daniel N. Boone and Irene Ayers. He graduated from Warren Wilson College in Asheville, NC and taught there as well. He loved his country and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Boone moved to Augusta after World War II, opened Royce D. Boone Cabinetmaker in Martinez, and operated his business for over 50 years. He loved the community of Augusta very much, and was an active member of the Exchange Club of Augusta since 1954. He was also an active member of the Hephzibah Agricultural Club as well as being a long standing member of Central Christian Church since 1950.

Royce was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who was devoted to his entire family. Mr. Boone was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Jewell Pereyra Boone. Survivors include his brother Cecil N. Boone of Locust Grove, Georgia: sons, Royce Daniel (Danny) Boone, Jr. of Miles City, Montana, Phillip D. Boone and wife Kathleen of Augusta, and Douglas P. Boone and wife Kimberley of Atlanta, Georgia: grandchildren Jennifer Boone Boring of Augusta, Hunter D. Boone of Atlanta, Hayden R. Boone of Atlanta, and Holland P. Boone of Atlanta.

The family will receive friends from 5:30pm until 8 p.m. On Sunday, September 17 at Platt's Funeral Home on Crawford Avenue in Augusta.
