Virginia Harrison Minchew

Evans, GA – Mrs. Virginia Harrison Minchew, age83, entered into rest on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Brandon Wilde.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at the Church of the Good Shepherd with the Rev. Loren Hague officiating. Interment to follow in Westover Memorial Park.

Mrs. Minchew was born in Brandon, Virginia and resided in Augusta since 1953. She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd.

Mrs. Minchew is survived by her two sons, James W. Minchew, Jr. and wife Helen of Augusta and Harrison G. Minchew and wife Mary of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; her daughter, Ellen H. Minchew of Atlanta; her sister, Dorothy Chapin of Greenville, SC; her five grandchildren, James W. Minchew III, Julie B. Minchew, Katherine L. Minchew, Harrison Gray Minchew, Jr., and James P. Minchew.

Mrs. Minchew was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Minchew, Sr.; her parents, Henry L. Harrison and Betty Gray Harrison; two brothers, George Harrison and Stanley Harrison; and two sisters, Alice Perkins and Betty Thacker.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening October 9, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
