Augusta, GA---Miss Vivian E. Cook, 81, entered into rest on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, June 21, 2010, in the Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel with the Reverend Thomas Healy officiating. “Private”, interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
Miss Cook was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was the Head Surgical Nurse at St. Joseph Hospital, now Trinity Hospital of Augusta, for many years. During her nursing career, she was also employed at the Veterans Administration Medical Center and at King Mill, as company nurse.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Frankie Harman Cook, sister, Doris C. Marshall and brothers, Morris Cook and Ronnell Cook.
Survivors are her nephews, Barry F. Cook and wife, Patricia of Augusta and S. Rodney Cook and wife, Rhonda of Evans, GA.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 20, 2010, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, at Platt’s Crawford Avenue.
