Wendell David Putnam

On the evening of Friday, October 14th Wendell “David” Putnam, of Augusta, GA, peacefully entered into rest surrounded by his loving family.

David was born in Augusta, Georgia to Arthur Wendell and Pauline Walthell Putnam on October 8, 1960. He attended Westside Highschool and after receiving his high school diploma, he spent his early years honing his craft as a talented stone mason. He went on installing stone fireplaces, kitchens and bathrooms, before settling into a long career as a professional truckdriver, his most recent years were spent with Airgas.

On the night David met Karole Dennis, he declared that she would marry him one day. His wish came true on April 4, 1991 on the rooftop of the Partridge Inn before a picturesque sunset with many friends and family.

David is preceded in death by his father, Arthur Wendell Putnam, mother, Pauline Walthell Putnam, and brother Arthur Walthell Putnam,

David is survived by his loving wife Karole Dennis Putnam, his children, Will Putnam, Sarah Dorsey (Camron), Candace Memory (Brandy), and Tom Memory (Emily). His siblings Charles Putnam (Janice), Vivian Baltzegar, and Ruth Cushman (Edward). Several grandchildren, a great-grandchild, many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews that he joyfully doted on.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Augusta Rescue Mission, augustarescuemission.com, in David’s name so that his helpful spirit and deep compassion may live on.

Visitation will be at 10:00AM with services following at 11:00AM on Saturday, October 22nd, at Hill Baptist Church, 2165 Kings Way in Augusta, GA.
