Andrea Warner

September 10, 1962 — September 27, 2024

Hephzibah, Georgia

Andrea Fae Warner, age 62, of Hephzibah, GA, passed away suddenly in her home during Hurricane Helene. Her untimely departure has left a profound void in the hearts of many. Born on September 10, 1962, in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, Andrea’s vibrant spirit and generous heart touched countless lives. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Harold and Ruth Schmerling, and her brother, Morton Schmerling.

Andrea’s career as a health physics technician took her across the country, where she formed deep, lasting friendships and connections. Her colleagues often described her as a light—a presence that brightened every room and made every challenge feel surmountable. She was admired for her tireless dedication and unwavering kindness.

Andrea moved to the area to work at Plant Vogtle, a commitment she shared with her son, Joshua Warner. She is survived by her son, Josh, his wife, Katy, and their daughters, Lovett, Bonnie Kate, and Chamberlain Towns.

In addition to her immediate family, Andrea is remembered with love by her sister-in-law, Margaret Schmerling, and three nieces and nephews: Abbie Vernet, Rebecca Elliott, and Harris Schmerling.

Later in life, Andrea reconnected with her biological family, enriching her life and family circle. She is survived by her parents, Marylou Mench and Joseph Storkazzi, and two brothers, David Mench and his wife, Jennifer, and Kevin Mench, as well as six nieces and nephews: August, Sandin, Rudivan, Karisa, Kain, and Makenna.

Andrea’s life was a beautiful journey filled with love, resilience, and courage. Her passion for music, gardening, and nature—especially the beach—were hallmarks of her vibrant life. Andrea’s indomitable "let’s do this" attitude will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. Though she left this world unexpectedly, her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Andrea’s love for animals, especially dogs, was a defining aspect of her life. Her caring nature extended to all creatures, reflecting her belief that love knows no bounds. She was recently predeceased by her dog, Oliver, who was her companion for 17 years.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the International Fund for Animal Welfare’s Hurricane Helene response in honor of Andrea's memory, https://give.ifaw.org/page/hurricane-Helene-response.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held later this year in Delaware.
