Ashley Griffis

Evans, GA – Ashley Carmen Griffis, 55, loving husband of Sharon Elaine Griffis, entered into rest on Sunday, June 23, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Porterfield officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park.

Ashley was a graduate of the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. He was a mechanical engineer and worked for many years at Savannah River Site and most recently CDI Corporation in Charlotte, NC. Ashley was an avid fisherman and loved riding motorcycles.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his mother, Catherine Lavonne Griffis of Aiken, SC, son, William Bryant of Evans, GA, one granddaughter, Cora Ellene Bryant, and one granddaughter by heart, Rebecca Elizabeth Maul, four sisters, Sherry Craig, Carlotta Donehue, Harriet Beadell, Rene Mengel, two brothers, Tony Griffis, Dan Griffis and numerous nieces and nephews. Ashley was preceded in death by his father, the late Harrell Quinton Griffis, and his brother, the late Ozzie Griffis.

Pallbearers will be Dusty Brooks, Chris Mengel, Nathan Griffis, Jason Griffis, Eric Griffis, and Luke Griffis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tres Lawton, Dewey Barnes, Earl Smith, and Joe Westbrook.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
