Barbara Earp Hewitt

Barbara E, Hewitt entered into rest on January 26th, 2025. 

Barbara is survived by her husband Talmadge Hewitt, Sr (Evans Ga), her four children: Talmadge Hewitt Jr (Jennifer), Omaha,NE , Elizabeth Smith, (Evans Ga), Kristine Hewitt (Evans, GA), and Spencer Hewitt (Shana), Roanoke, VA; seven grandchildren: Kaydn Hewitt (Sunny), Alexis Hewitt, Courtney Smith, Gavin Smith, Kristian Hewitt, Jaelyn Waid and Sawyer Hewitt; and her sister Dolly Cappa, Columbia MO. As well as with several nieces and nephews. 

She is proceeded in death by her father Harold Earp, her sister Donna Hicks and her mother Bonnie Maynard.  

She was born in Detroit, MI, moved to North Carolina then spent a good portion of the rest of her life after graduation traveling with her husband and kids with the military sending them to North Carolina, Arizona, Hawaii, Maryland, Germany(Nuremberg and Stuttgart) and finally to Georgia where they retired.  She loved spending time with her grandkids playing cards, backgammon, teaching them to write cursive and her granddaughters getting her hooked on K-Pop music. The love she had for chihuahuas has been passed down to her two daughters and grandkids. 

Family will have visitation on the 8th of February from 5p-7p at Platts Funeral on Belair Rd. There will be a celebration of life for all immediate family and very close friends at a later time. 

Flowers, potted plants, seed cards and/or a memorial contribution to American Heart Association are welcomed.
