Betty Phinizy Leitner

Betty Phinizy Leitner of Augusta died Sunday, December 10, 2017 at her home.

She was born August 1, 1928, in Augusta, the daughter of Charles Henry Phinizy and Mary Dorothy Palmer Phinizy Goodrich.

Mrs. Leitner was pre-deceased by her husband, Frank W. Leitner, and her brother, Charles Henry Phinizy III. She is survived by her children, Mary Dee Neely Palmer (Ben), Robert C. Neely III, Betty Neely Tetterton and Charles G. Neely (Marsha); grandchildren, Sarah Ward Kravitsky, Kathy Ward Crook, Chris Neely, Travis Neely, Nathan Neely, Justin Neely, Rachel Neely, Charlie Neely and Brandon Neely; and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Platt’s Funeral Home Crawford Avenue. A private burial will be held.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, P. O. Box 50, Waynesboro, GA 30830.
