Billy (Ret.) Sfc Mcgrady

Augusta, GA – SFC (Ret.) Billy McGrady, 74, beloved husband of Helen Barrett McGrady, entered into rest on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Eisenhower Army Medical Center.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January23, 2014 in Westover Memorial Park.

SFC McGrady loved his family especially his grand and great-grandchildren. He also loved his country and served proudly during the Vietnam War. SFC McGrady received the Army Commendation Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, and the Bronze Star. He was named the Civilian Instructor of the Year and most importantly was recognized by his family as the 48 time Father of the Year.

In addition to his wife, SFC McGrady is survived by his sons, Brian McGrady (Angie) of Ellabell, GA and John Anderson; his daughters, Pam Gregory (Mac) of Augusta, Julie Anderson, and Cheryl Youngquist; his brother, Ronnie Hawks; his sister, Claudia Reeder; his grandchildren, Justin McGrady, Ashley Stanford, Jonathan McGrady, Tyler McGrady, Macie Gregory, Randall Gregory, Abigail Youngquist, and A.J. Youngquist; and by his great-grandchildren, Riley Lindsey and Keelan Angermeier. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Ruth Johnson McGrady.
