Bobbie Jean McCoy

Mrs. Bobbie Jean McCoy, beloved wife of the late Hubert V. McCoy, entered into rest on Friday, December 13, 2024.

A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.

Bobbie Jean was born in Jefferson County, Georgia to Sam and Lois Hadden. She was the owner of the Central Avenue Beaty Salon for 40 years. She loved traveling, music, and sharing stories. Bobbie’s infectious sense of humor often found its way into her stories. You could always count on a funny twist with every tale.

She is most remembered for her love of her grandchildren. Bobbie always wanted to know what they were up to by requesting updates on their education, careers, and general wellbeing. In addition to being a loving grandmother, Bobbie was also a member of Pineview Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Donna M. Williams, Gail M. Cawley (Joe) and Tony W. McCoy, her grandchildren, Jennifer May (Michael), Bridges Williams (Maggie), Grey Williams, Davis Cawley (Hannah), Lauren Cawley and Ansley Cawley, as well as her great grandchildren, Bethany Spohn and Ashton Spohn.

In addition to her husband, Hubert, she was preceded in death by a son, Terry D. McCoy, brothers John Hadden and Jack Hadden, and her sisters Edie Seigler, Deanne Hadden, Ann Bledsoe, and Linda Hadden.

The family would like to thank the staff at Barclays House, and her caregivers, Yvette Green and Machelle Wiggins, for their loving care of Bobbie Jean.

If so desired, memorials may be made in her honor to Pineview Baptist Church, 119 Pleasant Home Road, Augusta, Ga, 30907.

Please leave condolences in the online guestbook.
