Bobby Goode, Sr., age 89 entered into rest on Sunday, May 30, 2021 under the wonderful care of Benton House.
Bobby was born in Rutherfordton, North Carolina where he met his sweetheart, Christine. The two traveled with their family throughout Bobby’s Army career which brought them to Ft. Gordon where he retired. Bobby proudly served his country during a career that included one tour of duty in Korea and two in Vietnam; and he received numerous commendations to include multiple silver stars and bronze stars. He was a member of Burns Memorial United Methodist Church.
Bobby will be remembered for his unique witt and his ability to bring joy to others through laughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Christine James Goode; his parents, Aubrey Goode and Pauline Brown Goode; brother, Ralph Goode; sister, Dorothy Sumner; and daughter-in-law, Kathy Goode.
Bobby is survived by his two children, Gene Goode of Belmont, North Carolina and Kim Padgett (Jack) of Evans; four grandchildren, Hayley Perry (Doug), Barrett Goode, Jackson Padgett, and Sara Ann Tully (Zack); and two great grandchildren, Savannah and Kyndall Perry.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Benton House, Agape Hospice, and Encompass Hospice for the love and care they bestowed upon Bobby.
A graveside service will take place at 11:30 A.M. Thursday, June 3, 2021 in Westover Memorial Park where Bobby will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife. Chaplain Jordan Dill will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, 106 SRP Drive, Evans, Georgia 30809.
