Carol Mutimer Lanning

Carol Mutimer Lanning, 81 passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was preceeded in death by her loving husband, Thomas Roy Lanning, her parents, Blair and Lillie Mutimer, and her sister, Merle Mutimer Taylor.
She is survived by her three children, Craig Lanning (Charlotte) of Augusta, Georgia; Beth Lanning Gore of Augusta, Georgia; Ann Lanning Steele (Brad) of Mobile, Alabama. She is survived by her grandchildren, Deborah Lanning Poe (Andrew), Charles Lanning, Ann Gore Ramberg (Brady), Johnathan Gore, Lillie Gore, Thomas Gore, Sarah Steele Dierking (Max), Lanning Steele, Lauren Steele, Caleb Steele, Annabelle Stelle, Michaela Steele and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Blair LeRoy Mutimer Jr (Barbara) and William Ross Mutimer (Janice), both of Evans, Georgia.
Carol had a life-long passion for teaching and earned a BA from Furman University, Greenville, South Carolina. She taught high school English and high school and primary Sunday schools, as well as preschool church. After retirement from the business she owned with her late husband, Carol earned a Doctor of Theology and continued to work with the students of Christian Life School of Theology. Most recently, Carol has taught and volunteered in The Healing Center at Whole Life Ministries. She had a great love for sharing the love of Jesus with other people.
The family will receive friends Thursday, 6-8 p.m., at Platt’s Funeral Home, 337 N. Belair Rd, Evans, Georgia. The celebration service will be held Friday, 10 a.m., at Whole Life Ministries, 2621 Washington Rd, Augusta, Georgia, followed by interment at Westover Memorial Park, 2601 Wheeler Rd, Augusta, Georgia.
