Mr. Carrol “Woody” Wood

Augusta, GA – Mr. Carrol “Woody” Wood, 76, beloved husband of Mrs. Corrine “Jean” Wood, entered into rest on Friday, February 11, 2011 at University Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 14, 2011 at Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel with Pastor Eric Lairsey officiating. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Woody will be remembered as a simple and kindhearted person who loved spending time at home with his devoted wife Jean and his Jack Russell Terrier “Jock. Many of his nights at home were spent watching wrestling and western movies. He was a dedicated employee with the Richmond County Trees and Landscaping division for over 38 years.

In addition to his loving wife, Woody is survived by his children, Marion Broadway, James Wood, Edward Nettles and Barbara Terwilliger; his stepbrother, Billy Wood; numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Harvey Bryant, James Hornsby, John Watson, Aaron Moran, George Perry Charles Johnson.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening, February 13, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
