Catherine "Cathy" Frances Johnson

Catherine “Cathy” Frances Johnson, 76, of Martinez passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at her residence. She was born in Augusta to the late Turner and Virginia “Sara” Saturley Trabue.

Cathy was a 1965 graduate of Miami Edison High School in Miami, Florida. She later graduated from Augusta College and the Medical College of Georgia in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She held various administrative positions over 35 years at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Augusta, retiring in 2010. Her life’s passion was serving others and she took great pride in being a registered nurse.

Apart from her professional accomplishments, Cathy found joy in numerous pursuits. She was an avid reader, an ace chef, a traveler who explored both in and out of state, and a devoted fan of the TV show "Chicago Fire." Her zest for life was evident in her love for others, experiencing new adventures and enjoying simple pleasures. Cathy’s memory will dwell in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Cathy is survived by her partner of 17 years and husband, Sean; a son, Chuck Hall (Stacey); a daughter, Dawn Cartee (Jamey); two grandchildren, Andrew and Ginger Hall.

A private service will be held at a later date in Cathy’s hometown of Augusta, Georgia.
