Cheryl Renee Overton

Cheryl Taylor Overton (75) joined her maker this Sunday morning 2/25/24. Cheri was a retired teacher having taught in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas. Her classrooms were always colorful and interesting. Her students consistently placed above the national average and her Georgia class was awarded 4H club of the year two years in a row.

An avid decorator, Cheri strove to make our surroundings beautiful, yet warm and inviting, as possible. Her passing was gentle with her family close around her. We will miss her boisterous humor and endless goodwill.

Cheri is survived by her husband, Warren, Mechanical Engineering Head of Department at Augusta Technical College; two sons, Mark and Michael Powell, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
