Col. (Ret.) Arnaldo L. Correa

Col. (Ret) Arnaldo L. Correa was born November 10, 1927, in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico and died on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 in Evans, GA.
A graduate of the University of Puerto Rico and Baylor University, he served in the U.S. Army for 28 years. Col. Correa saw combat in Korea with the First Cavalry Division and served in Vietnam from 1967 to 1969 with the Office of the Surgeon General. Col. Correa had assignments in Ft. Riley, KS, Ft. Buchanan, PR, Samur, France, Ft. Benning, GA, Ft. Sam Houston, TX, Munich Army Medical Center, SHAPE Medical Center, Brussels, Ft. McPherson, GA, and finally in 1972 as Deputy Commander of the Eisenhower Medical Center at Ft. Gordon Army Medical Center. He received numerous commendations and service medals including the Combat Infantry Badge. He was a member of the College of Health Care Administration, the American Hospital Association, the Georgia State Golf Association.
He was an avid golfer and loved beach vacations with his family.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lillian Anderson Correa. He is survived by two daughters, Lilly Correa (Dianna Bell) of Atlanta, GA and Dr. Vivian I. Correa (John Ziegert) of St. Petersburg FL; one son, Arnie Correa, Jr. (Sandra Pulliam Correa) of Tybee Island, GA; a grandson, Nicholas Correa (Anna Litman Correa) of Houston, TX; two step-granddaughters Ellie Ziegert (Charlotte, NC) and Abigail Ziegert (Atlanta, GA); and a brother, Dr. Roberto Correa, and sisters, Raquel Correa and Carmen E. Correa of Puerto Rico. A special thank you is given to Yolanda Hicks for the companionship, love, and care she provided him over the past five years.
He will be laid to rest at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 22, 2021.
