Daisy P. Meeks

Augusta,GA.- Mrs. Daisy P. “ Sug “ Meeks 87, wife of the late Thomas L. Meeks entered into rest at Trinity Hospital on Sunday, January 11, 2008.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 in the Platt’s Crawford Ave. Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Kevin Steele and Reverend Jim Kirk officiating. Interment will be held in Westover Memorial Park.

Mrs. Meeks was a retired bookkeeper at the Oxford Shop and at Dot Holland’s. She was a member of National Hills Baptist Church and the Sam Hardy Sunday School Class. She was a native of Parksville, SC, and was a graduate of Washington High School. She moved to Augusta in 1940.

Mrs. Meeks was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Franklin and Barbara Christian Parks, brothers, Edward Hampton Parks, James Wilmer Parks and two sisters, Lena Parks and Stella Jackson.

Survivors include, one son Terry Meeks and his wife Lynda of Martinez, one sister, Ella P. Moody of Augusta, two grandchildren, Michael Curd and Brian Curd, one great-grandson, Jacob M. Curd. numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be nephews.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
