David John Jones, Jr

David Jones Jr, of Evans, passed away on January 13, 2025 in Augusta, Ga. 

 David was born in Leonia, NJ to David and Eleanor Jones on December 4, 1936. He married Rita Jacobs on October 15, 1962 in New Jersey.

 He worked for the New York Times and served in the United States Navy. 

 David and his wife, Rita, later retired to Florida where he and his wife made many new friends. One of Davids favorite sports was golf and later joined a gold club. In addition to his gold club, he joined a bowling league as well as many other organizations. 

 David is preceded in death by his wife, Rita Jones, his parents, David and Eleanor Jones, and his sister Nancy Politi. 

 David is Survived by his son, Michael Jones (Maureen), his daughter, Lisa Ramos (Justo), his grandchildren Kristina Ramos, Danielle Disch (Stephen), his great grandchildren, Alexia Ramos, Justin Plyler, Kyleigh Disch, Wyatt Disch, Tony Disch. 

 The Family of David Jones to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Phillip Kennedy, Enhabit Hospice, Barclay House of Augusta, The Agner Family, and The Glover Family. 

Funeral services will be held Saturday January 18, 2025 at 1:00 at Platt's Funeral Home, Belair Chapel with the Reverend Dr. J. Andrew Menger officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service from 12:00pm until start of service.
