David N. Symons

David N. Symons, 30, entered into rest on Friday, January 18, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, January 21, 2013 at West Acres Baptist Church with burial at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

David was a Nationally Board Certified Music Therapist. He worked with special needs children in the Fulton Co. School Music Therapy Dept. for the past five year. He was working on his doctorate in music education at UGA.

David was an energetic, talented, driven young man who had a passion to connect with students with disabilities. He was a talented trumpet player, vocalist, guitarist and well-rounded musician. David loved to showcase his students’ abilities in the midst of their disabilities making them SHINE. He was a beloved son and brother. David will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his parents, Paul and Pam Symons, and brother, Daniel Symons, of Evans, GA.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 20, 2013 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family would like to make a donation to the Fulton County Schools, Music Therapy Department. Mail donations to the Music Therapy Assoc. of GA, 2194 Ithica Drive Marietta, GA 30067. Funds will go to assist special needs students in the program. In the memo line of your check write David Symons Music Therapy Fund.
