Donald Alan Lawrence, 73, of Evans, Georgia passed away on August 13, 2020 at Augusta University Health, following an extended illness.

Don was born in Petoskey, Michigan to Elmer and Margaret Lawrence on July 6, 1947. He was the youngest of 4 children and graduated highschool from Sarasota High in Sarasota, Florida. He then attended and graduated from the University of Florida in Gainesville with a Bachelor of Science in Business and was an avid Gator Fan. He married Evelyn Wright on January 19, 1984 in Augusta, Georgia. He was a Sales Manager for R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company for 32 years. His hobbies included watching anything Florida Gators, hunting, fishing and playing golf. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren.

Don is preceeded in death by his parents, Elmer and Margaret Lawrence and his brother, Tom Lawrence.

Don is survived by his wife of 36 years: Evelyn; his children: Shannon Beasley (Scott), Crista Thoresen (Eric), and Travis Lawrence (Jennifer); his sisters Ann Ammond and Sally Smith (Ron); his grandchildren: Taylor, Drew, Finn, Elin, Tyler and Gavin; and several nieces and nephews which he was very fond of.

Arrangements have been provided by Platt's Funeral Home.

A celebration of his life will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Augusta Humane Society.
