Mrs. Donna Jean Trainor, beloved wife of Thomas Matthew Trainor, entered into rest on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at her residence in Grovetown, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Bellevue Memorial Gardens with Chaplain Rick Boland officiating.
Mrs. Trainor was a proud American and an Army brat that traveled the world before settling in Augusta. She graduated from the Academy of Richmond County, Augusta College, and earned a Masters degree in Library Science from the University of South Carolina. A longtime librarian, she was the Special Collections Librarian at the Greenblatt Library and retired from the Medical College of Georgia. She was a member and past president of the Georgia Health Sciences Library Association. She was a member and past president of the MCG Faculty and Spouse Club, and a member of their book club. She was passionate about books and reading and loved old movies, cooking, gardening, and fishing.
In addition to her husband, Tom, she is survived by her son, Matt Trainor (Lynette), her grandchildren; Tommy Trainor (Maggie) and Spencer Johnson (Lindsey) and her great grandchildren; Maebel Trainor and Evan Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents; Charles and Evelyn Shauck, a brother, Jack Shauck and a granddaughter, Virginia Trainor.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday morning, prior to the service from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Platts Belair Road Chapel.
