Augusta, GA – Doris Adams Buck, 95, loving wife of Marion “Buddy” Buck for 73 years, entered into rest on Monday, March 2, 2015.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 6, 2015 at Platt’s Funeral Home Belair Rd. Chapel with Rev. Charles Broome officiating. A private burial will take place at Westover Memorial Park.

Doris was born in Atlanta, GA and raised in Gainesville, GA. She was a graduate of Riverbend High School as Salutatorian. After moving to Augusta, GA, she worked at the Markwalter Accounting Firm and in retail sales with Davison’s and J.B. White. Doris was a Girl Scout leader for a number of years. She was a member of St. Mark UMC, where she was President of French Bible Class.

Mrs. Buck was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Fannie Poore Adams; three sisters, Frances DeLong, Edith Hensley Hall, and Annell Gray; and son-in-law, Mark S. Ritz.

In addition to her husband, survivors include three daughters; Pat B. Harris (Walter) of Stone Mtn, GA, Kathryn B. Ritz of Amelia Island, FL, Carolyn B. Moses (Michael) of Sugarland, TX, one brother; Harold Adams of Marietta, GA, one sister; Norma Boyd of Boca Raton, FL, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 5, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Westwood Extended Care and University Hospital for their devoted care of Mrs. Buck.
