Dyke Edward Dean, 62, of Greenwood, SC, passed away on Friday, January 17th, 2025 in Augusta, GA.
A public Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 25th at Calvary Chapel, 2024 Woodlawn Rd. Greenwood, SC 29649 with Pastor David Evans officiating.
Dyke was born in Mobile, Alabama to the late Ramon E. Dean and the late Barbara L. Dean on July 21st, 1962. He spent his childhood in Enterprise, Alabama and graduated from Enterprise High School and Lurleen B. Wallace Community College.
He worked as an Automation Technologist for several companies, most recently at Lonza Group AG in Greenwood, SC, for 16 years. He loved sharing his passion for technology and robotics and spent several years as a coach and mentor for young people in the FIRST Robotics program. During his last years he enthusiastically sought ways to improve the lives of others with art, music, wellness, and technology ventures.
His faith was rooted in the power of salvation through Jesus Christ and he attended Calvary Chapel Greenwood in his later years.
Dyke is survived by three children from his previous marriage to Debbie Dean: Brian Dean (Mandy), Sarah Rinaudo (Anthony), Brandon Dean (Logan), six grandchildren, and three sisters: Pam Carter, Pennie Kelley (Jeff), and Paula Crean (Pat).
The family of Dyke wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the staff and doctors at Self Regional Healthcare and the Wellstar MCG Medical center for the care they provided during Dyke’s final days.
