Eleanor Agatha Williams, née Peets, aged 80, was born in Basseterre, St. Kitts, in the British West Indies on August 5, 1944, to Arlington and Winifred Peets (Edinborough). She passed away peacefully in her home in Augusta, GA on February 20, 2025. She married Eric Denzil Williams, who predeceased her at the age of 83, on December 22, 1966.

 Eleanor is survived by her children, Jehu Peets, Amelia Gordon, Eloise Williams, Les Roy Williams, Elinor Gallelli, Cassandra Williams, Orpah Williams, and Celestine Williams, and their issue. She is also survived by her sisters, Odette Ramsey, Lois Cannon, Erica Baker, Lydia Lewis, Cynthia Peets, Pearl Peets, and Joyce Davis, and their issue, as well as her brother Willis Peets and his issue.

 She earned an Associates of Arts degree in Secretarial Administration from the University of the Virgin Islands and went on to work as a secretary at Ulla F. Muller Elementary School in St. Thomas, USVI. Upon her move to Augusta, GA in September 1993, She worked for the Richmond County Board of Education at Roy E. Rollins Elementary School as a teacher’s aide, secretary, and data clerk until her achievement of retirement age.

 Eleanor spent her life as a faithful servant of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and an avid studier of the Bible and other religious texts. She made it her mission to teach the truth of God’s Word both verbally and through the writing of two books, From Sin to Son or Daughter (published in 1999) and Works of the Flesh (published in 2005). Her life, love, and legacy will continue through the lives of all those she touched.

 Her funeral services will be held at Platts Funeral Home in Evans, GA, on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM with Minister Amelia Gordon officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for two hours prior, from 9:00 until service time. Burial will follow at 2:30 PM at Westover Memorial Park. She will be laid to rest next to her loving husband of almost 55 years.

  The family would like to express their gratitude to the hospice care team at Crescent Hospice for their compassion and support during Eleanor’s final days and would prefer charitable donations to Samaritan’s Purse International Relief in lieu of flowers.
