Elizabeth Anne Goodie

December 13, 1934 — February 21, 2025

Augusta

Mrs. Elizabeth Anne Goodie entered into rest on Friday, February 21, 2025 at the At Home Senior Living in Thomson, Georgia. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon, March 2, 2025 from 4:00 until 7:00 at Platt’s Belair Road.

Elizabeth, lovingly known as Betty, was one of three children born in Lowell, Massachusetts to Charles and Dorothy Robertson. Growing up, she was a natural performer. She loved tap dancing on stage and sometimes would convince her sister to join her in a tap-dancing duo. She met the love of her life, Phillip Goodie, and they married. At age 58, she retired as a secretary from Digital Equipment Company, when she and Phil moved to Englewood, Florida. They enjoyed their retirement by spending time with friends, especially close friends, Dick and Mary. They also loved boating and walking the beach in search of shark’s teeth with their grandchildren. Betty became a member of the Englewood Women’s Club and developed many lifelong friendships. She enjoyed fashion shows, book clubs, and traveling. She loved cruising and taking one or two cruises a year was not uncommon. Her favorite cruise companions were Jim and Diane Goodie. After Phil passed away in 2021, she moved to Georgia to be close to her family.

She is survived by her children, Donna Lavey (Fran), Ron Fordham (Vandena), Julie Newman and Beth Alexakis, her grandchildren, Sean, Nathan, Ashley, Austin, Alex, Lizzie, Tiffany, Amanda, and Shayla, in addition to several great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Barbara Beaulieu, and her nieces, Sandy, Sue, Cindi, Chrissy, Robin, Karen and Danielle, her sister in law, Elaine, a niece, Lisa and nephews, Jeffrey and Neal. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Goodie, her parents, Charles and Dorothy Robertson, a brother, Charles and her niece, Kerry.

If so desired, memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association at www.alz.org. Please leave condolences in the online guestbook.
