Evelyn Mccracken

AUGUSTA – Mrs. Evelyn Steadman McCracken, beloved widow of the late Clarence J. McCracken, 80, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 26, 2008 at University Hospital.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 11:00 at Bellevue Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Sonny Serigney officiating.

Mrs. McCracken will be remembered as a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, mother in law and friend.

She is survived by her son, James Steven McCracken and wife, Dionne, a granddaughter, Brittany Lee McCracken, a brother, Duke Steadman and wife, Bobbie Jo, her sisters, Verdeen Chapman, Sarah Jean Aldridge and husband, Jim, and Brenda Stribling and husband, Jimmy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence J. McCracken, her brothers, Carl Daniel Steadman, and Lide Steadman, and a sister, Thelma Clark.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening, October 27, 2008, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
