Mrs. Frances Marian “Frankie” Jones

Augusta, GA---Mrs. Frances Marian “Frankie” Freeland Jones, 83, entered into rest on Friday, September 19, 2014 at her residence.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Westover Memorial Park with Dr. Kevin Steele officiating.
Mrs. Jones was a native of Plum Branch, South Carolina, but had lived most of her life in Augusta. She was a member of National Hills Baptist Church. Frankie retired from Civil Service, at Ft, Gordon, Georgia as Adjutant Administrator to the General. Following retirement, she volunteered as a pink lady at St. Joseph Hospital, now Trinity Hospital of Augusta. Mrs. Jones loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a devoted Christian, who loved the Lord.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Willis Jones, her parents, Hugh Manning Freeland and Lula Self Freeland and by three sisters, Mary Freeland, Hugh Margaret Welborn and Virginia Culbreath.
She is survived by one daughter, Tamblyn Jones Lariscey (Billy) of Augusta, GA, stepdaughter, Tonya Jones Ligon (Fred) of Martinez, GA, stepson, Ferrell Lee Jones, Sr. (Diane) of Tabor City, NC, brother, Manning Freeland of Plum Branch, SC, sisters, Carolyn Winn and Cornelia Collier, both of Plum Branch, SC and Mabel Hemminger of Abbeville, SC, grandchildren, Ferrell Lee Jones, Jr., Brenden Jones (Angela), Stephen Holton, Alicia Howland (Brad) and Dalton Lariscey, great grandchildren, Ferrell Lee ”Trey” Jones III, Raegan Jones, Savannah-Grace Jones and Ella Bren Jones.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude and send a special thank you to all of Mrs. Jones caregivers.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 22, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Platt’s Crawford Avenue.
