Hans-Eberhard Hermann Martin

Mr. Hans-Eberhard Hermann Martin, beloved husband of Paula, entered into rest on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at his residence. He was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother Peter Martin and his sisters Betty Cotter and Barbara Martin.

Hans was born in Hersleshausen, Germany to Paul E. Martin and Margot Zeitz Martin in 1947. After returning to the states, his family settled in the Augusta area. He was an active Boy Scout, and in 1961, he was awarded the Eagle Scout and inducted into the Order of the Arrow. He graduated from George P. Butler High School and then attended Augusta College. Hans was a United States Navy veteran and retired from Club Car after 28 years, as the Service Parts Manager.

He enjoyed camping with his family and friends, traveling and playing golf and rooting for Notre Dame Football, as he was an avid fan. He enjoyed coaching his son’s sports teams and playing video games with his daughter.

His memory will live on in the hearts of his wife of 60 years, Paula Martin; his daughter Jill (and spouse Kirk Lugar); his son James (and spouse Amber Martin); his grandchildren: Kirsten Lugar, Nixon Martin, and Mabrie Martin; his brother Jim (and spouse Dale Martin); many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
